Health Sciences Sequencing Core

Overview of Services

Established in 2016 as a Health Sciences Core in the School of Medicine, the HSSC is located in the Rangos Research Building at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. HSSC offers Illumina Next Generation Sequencing Services to the University of Pittsburgh community and beyond. Our staff have experience in RNA and DNA extraction, low-input and degraded sample library generation for RNAseq, ATACseq, ChIPseq and associated technologies. Our core has Illumina Miseq, Nextseq500 and Nextseq2000 machines, with access to higher throughput capacity at the UPMC Genome Center. We encourage consultations in advance for custom or off-label projects.
